Rescue work is on by Army and State Police. Helicopters from various agencies have airlifted the victims. Injured and casualties have been taken care off. West Bengal CM MIss Mamata Banarjee, Mr Rahul Gandhi, PM Mr Manmohan Sing and The CM of Skkim Mr. P Chamling has assured and helped all victims within hours of the disaster.  NGO and many members have joined hand in the restoration process. Relief materials are reaching in all the places. There is losses but things are comming back to Normal fast. Darjeeling and Kalimpong all is not much affected and everything is nearly normal. Please note that it is very strange that some unknown tour operators who hardly works in this region is said to have quoted in news that there has been massive cancellations. Many tour operatorss have there groups in the coming month and none has cancelled there trips till date, but are only asking and raising there concern about the local people and how they are. They seem to be more concerned but some unknown tour operators are busy giving a negative brief about the place and saying there have been massive cancellations.
 
Roads damaged are being repaired. The status as on 21st September is given below
 
The Gangtok approach from Siliguri has opened today for small and SUV traffic.
 
The Darjeeling approach from Siliguri is open via Pankhabari and Mirik (02 separate routes)
 
The Pelling approach via Jorethang and Ravangla, both are expected to be normal from next week.
 
The Lava approach from Siliguri and Kalimpong is ok and through.
 
The Pedong approach from Kalimpong has become functional from today, but the approach to Zuluk in East Sikkim from Pedong is still closed and full fledged work is on and expected to open for traffic from next week.
 
The Kalimpong approach from Siliguri and Gangtok are also open. 
 
The Darjeeling to Jorethang through Singla Bazar Road is open to traffic
 
The Toy Train Joy Ride from Darjeeling - Ghoom - Darjeeling is supposed to resume from tomorrow.
 
Road from Chalsa to Samsing is also open.
 
All the approaches to Buxa Tiger Reserve is also open
 
Road from Chalsa to Jaldhaka is also open, the road to Bindu should be resolved by a week.
