Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or UNESCO World Heritage Train is operational between Kurseong and Darjeeling - Train services are now operating between Kurseong and Darjeeling. Tourist can enjoy Joy Rides and short ride between Darjeeling and Kurseong and back. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway can also be chartered either the Steam or the diesel version. There is also provision for booking of a compartment / bogie if booked in advance and the same can be hooked to the regular train. The section between New Jalpaiguri and Mahanadi will remain closed due to landslide in June and July. The necessary actions to repairs and restore the service at the earliest have been undertaken by the DHR authority.
Also in offer is the Broad Gauge Steam Charters between Siliguri and Chalsa in order to keep the tourists entertain.
