Durga Puja / Dusshera / Dasaein - Durga Puja is a festival Bengalis celebrate without religious inhibitions. Durga puja is celebrated in autumn in the months of September / October. According to the Hindu solar calendar, it falls on the first nine days of the month of Ashvin. It is more of a socio cultural celebration that tends to renew kinship with friends, relatives and guest. The celebration of Durga Puja goes very far back in history and there are abundant references to it in India literature from 12th century onwards. The five festive days of Durga Puja begins on September 25, 2009 and ends on September 29, 2009 welcoming Devi Durga is aplomb with rituals and is celebrated over a period of five Days namely Shashti, Saptami, Ashtami, Nabami and Dashami.
